New York, James Miller, 1854. 1st Edition, 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Hardcover. 90pp. Gilt embossed brown boards, gilt lettering and floral design to spine, 5 hand-colored engraved plates. Cover shows very slight wear, chipping to head and tail of spine, small insect holes to rear joint, binding is tight and sound, an occasional spot to text otherwise clean, 1864 inscription on front free endpaper, book is overall in a well-preserved condition. Good.

Stiff pictorial sewn wraps, 4 leaves of chromolthographs plus 2 chromos on inside front and rear covers. A different nursery rhyme accompanies each illustration. Cover is chipped along edges, mailny along spine, one illustration has an irregular 5 inch tear along top with slight loss of illustration. One of the publications from E.P. Dutton's "Pinafore" toy Books series, an uncommon series. Good.

Very light wear to edges and some very faint spotting to rear board, but lettering and decoration are very bright and fresh looking. Sever al tiny margin stains not affecting text and the contents are otherwise unmarked. Binding has held up very well. Copiously illustrated. Very Good.
